My background in running started when I was 6, kicking off in Little Athletics, which I did until I was 14, I then graduated into senior athletics, running as an amateur until I was 18, mainly in sprints and middle distance (100, 200, 400, 800). I then started in professional foot running, concentrating on 400, 800 and 1600 metres. I raced as a professional for 8 years and at the Stawell gift 8 times, I won 2 races, the Rye 800m and the Northcote 1600m, made numerous finals and made the Stawell 550m final twice and the 800m final once during my career.

Suffering from ongoing Achillies tendonitis problems meant  I could no longer do the short sprint work to be competitive at a professional level, however because I just enjoy running, I turned to longer distance races, slowly building up over the last 4 years from 5km and 10km races to Half Marathon, Marathon and finally to Ultra Marathons.

I have raced numerous 5 and 10km races, have completed 13 Half Marathon races, 2 Marathons and 3 Ultra Marathons. Most recently, along with Tory (one of the RunBuddy coaches and owner of TrewHealth), we both completed the Tan Ultra Marathon. With Tory finishing the 25 lap, 100km race and I finished the 13 lap, 52km race. We had a great day out, inviting clients their friends and RunBuddy members to come down and join us for a lap or two and enjoy a BBQ next to the Start/Finish line of the Tan. We both ran in support of “CanTeen, helping kids with cancer” raising over $2000 on the day!

In January I completed by second Mt. Bogong to Falls Creek marathon, one of Australia's toughest courses in the Victorian High Country. In preparation for the Oxfam 100km Trailwalker event at the end of March, I will be doing the Maroondah Dam 50km trail run in February and the Six Foot Track 45km trail Marathon at the start of March. Beyond this I will be targeting The North Face 100km trail run in May and hopefully helping many runners achieve their goals and more than they ever thought possible as the year progresses!

A happy finisher!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
